CLARIFICATION TO INFORMATION PUBLISHED ABOUT MARIMEKKO CORPORATION'S AGREEMENT  
NEGOTIATIONS IN THE USA                                                         

With reference to the information published today on Marimekko's agreement      
negotiations in the USA, Marimekko Corporation wishes to specify that it has not
entered into any significant new binding agreements. The company will announce  
in more detail should the negotiations proceed to a point where it will be      
possible to assess the impact of the potential agreement on business growth and 
earnings trend.                                                                 

The USA is an important market for Marimekko, where growth has been buoyant and 
interest in the Marimekko brand has increased considerably in the last few      
years.                                                                          

The company's estimate of the outlook for the remainder of 2007, given in the   
Interim Report published on 16 August 2007, remains unchanged.
