In January-November the sales totalled €7,801.7 million (excluding VAT), which is down by 12.6%. In the food trade, sales in November were €306.0 million, an increase of 2.2%. Sales to the K-food store chains were up by 6.2%. In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in November were €144.1 million, a decrease of 1.3%. The sales of home decoration products developed best. In home electronics and clothing, sales fell compared to the previous year. In the building and home improvement trade, sales in November were €179.5 million, a decrease of 11.6%. Sales in Finland were down by 9.9%, which is attributable to the decrease in B-to-B sales and in the sales of agricultural supplies. In foreign countries, sales decreased by 12.8% in terms of euros, and by 10.6% in terms of local currencies. In the Baltic countries, sales were down by 40.7%. In Russia, sales dropped by 21.6% in terms of euros, and by 3.1% in terms of local currency. In the car and machinery trade, VV-Auto's sales in November were €45.6 million, down 0.7%. The sales performance was affected by the car tax act which came into force in April, because of which car tax levied on cars after 1 April 2009 is not included in sales figures. The passenger cars imported by VV-Auto accounted for 17.1% (17.6%) of new registrations. Konekesko's sales in November were €29.0 million, down 30.1%. Sales decreased by 19.6% in Finland and by 37.1% in foreign countries as a result of the weakened machinery market and the downsizing of the Baltic agricultural trade. Change,% indicates the change over the corresponding period of the previous year. In November 2009, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale was 21, which is one more than in November 2008. The total number of selling days in January-November was three less than in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in November was 29, which is one more than in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-November was four less than in the previous year.
