Ixonos Focuses Strategy and Continues Cost Saving Activities

Helsinki, Finland, 2012-07-25 08:00 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Ixonos Plc
Stock Exchange Release 25 July 2012 at 09:00

IXONOS FOCUSES STRATEGY AND CONTINUES COST SAVING ACTIVITIES

Changes in Ixonos' operating environment, which started in 2011, have gained
momentum during this year. Due to changes in major customer's technology
strategy, demand for Ixonos' mobile software development services in Finland
has significantly decreased during the first half of the year.

Due to these changes, Ixonos further focuses its effort for growth
opportunities on European and North American clientele. The company sharpens
its service and solutions offering in Connected Devices, Online Solutions and
User Experience Design service areas especially for telecommunication,
automotive and media industries.

The Connected Devices service area comprises services for mobile software
development, platform solutions and design services for mobile devices, as well
as mobile connectivity for automotive. In the Online Solutions service area,
Ixonos focuses on cloud based services and solutions for media and other
digital content distribution and commerce. The User Experience Design service
area innovates, designs and implements brand supporting user experience and
user interfaces for mobile devices and digital services.

As part of focusing the strategy, Ixonos commences co-operation negotiations
with its personnel in Connected Devices service area in Finland for reasons
related to production, financial position and reorganization of operations. The
goal of the negotiations is to adjust the company's cost structure to the
changed situation in order to secure the company's competitiveness.

The negotiations apply to all personnel in Connected Devices service area in
Finland, who are employed by Ixonos Plc or the Group's subsidiaries, as well as
to employees in foreign offices who are employed by Finnish companies or their
foreign branch offices. The actions are estimated to impact 120 people at the
most.

Actions aimed at reorganizing operations and improving operational
effectiveness are being planned and implemented also in Estonia, Slovakia and
Asia following local legal process and practice.

With savings Ixonos aim at positive operating profit (EBIT) during the last
quarter of current financial year.
