ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT     

Ruukki Group Plc has today received an announcement pursuant to Securities      
Market Act chapter 2, section 9 regarding a change in shareholding:             

According to the announcement of Oy Herttakakkonen Ab (business ID 0761602-7)   
its ownership has fallen to 4.95 % of the share capital and voting rights of    
Ruukki Group Plc based on share transaction carried out on 24 November 2008 and 
to 7.86 % when taking into account the personal ownership of Kai Mäkelä and the 
ownership of Oy Herttaässä Ab.                                                  

Oy Herttakakkonen Ab now owns altogether 14,345,496 Ruukki Group Plc shares,    
which corresponds to about 4.95 % of the share capital and voting rights of     
Ruukki Group Plc.                                                               

In addition, Kai Mäkelä owns personally 20 and Oy Herttaässä Ab 8,444,278 Ruukki
Group Plc shares.                                                               

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 290,034,022 and share capital 
is EUR 23,642,049.60. The number of treasury shares held by Ruukki Group Plc is 
10,000,000 shares.
