Ruling by Administrative Court in appeal by tax official

In its divided judgment today the Administrative Court has accepted the appeal
by the state official representing the interests of tax recipients concerning
the deductibility of Sponda Kiinteistöt Oy's (formerly Kapiteeli Oyj) confirmed
losses of EUR 558 for the tax years 1996 - 1999, as granted by the Uusimaa
corporate tax office. If the ruling stands, this will give rise to a tax
expense for the years 2006 - 2008 of some EUR 131 million plus interest. 

Sponda considers the ruling of the Administrative Court to be wrong and has
decided to appeal to the Supreme Administrative Court. The company has
previously issued statements about this matter on 1 November 2007 and 19
December 2007.
