The notes have a maturity of 10 years and Pohjola will apply for the notes to be admitted to trading on the London Stock Exchange. Under the terms and conditions of the notes, the issuer will have the opportunity for early redemption in case the principal cannot be counted as part of the bank's Tier 2 capital. The notes will increase Pohjola Group's capital adequacy ratio (pro forma) by 3.3 percentage points, Tier 1 ratio by 1.7 percentage points and capital adequacy under the Act on the Supervision of Financial and Insurance Conglomerates by 0.25. On 31 December 2011, Pohjola Group's capital adequacy ratio stood at 10.6%, Tier 1 ratio at 10.6% and capital adequacy under the Act on the Supervision of Financial and Insurance Conglomerates at 1.41.
