NOTIFICATION OF CHANGE IN HOLDINGS UNDER CHAPTER 2, SECTION 9 OF THE FINNISH    
SECURITIES MARKET ACT                                                           

YIT Corporation has on October 3, 2008 gained knowledge of notification under   
the Finnish Securities Market Act stating that following a share transaction on 
October 2, 2008 holdings of Corbis S.A and Fennogens Investments S.A has        
increased to over 5% of YIT Corporation's shares and votes. The companies hold  
total of 7,250,000 YIT shares which equals to 5.70 per cent of YIT Corporation's
shares. Corbis S.A and Fennogens Investment S.A are owned by same parties.
