New Board Members to be proposed at upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting


Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, 22nd June 2009 - P/F Atlantic Petroleum (OMX: FO-ATLA)
the international upstream oil and gas company, announces that the Board of
Directors of the Company proposes the election of three new Board members,
Birgir Durhuus, Jan Evensen and Diana Leo, at the upcoming Extraordinary
General Meeting to be held on 3rd July 2009. 

As stated in the Company's announcement of 9th June 2009, the change in the
composition of the Board of Directors shall reflect the new phase that the
Company entered in September 2008 when it became an oil producing company. The
new Board members will supplement the current competences within Atlantic
Petroleum and add further international expertise to the current Board. 

The three new proposed Board members are:
•	Birgir Durhuus (age 45): Head of Alternative Solutions & Risk Management at
Danske Capital. Mr Durhuus holds a Master of Economics in Finance from CBS
(Copenhagen Business School) 
•	Jan Edin Evensen (age 58): Chief Technical Officer & Chairman of the Board
for Rock Energy AS. Mr. Evensen holds a Cand. Real (M.Sc.) in Geology from the
University of Oslo 
•	Diana Leo (age 43): Production Operations Manager of Siri Area Asset
(Denmark) with the E&P division of DONG Energy. Mrs. Leo graduated as a
Production Engineer (B.Sc.) from the Copenhagen Engineering School. In
addition, she holds an MBA from the University of Salford, UK, and an M. Eng.
(Petroleum Engineering) from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK 

The three recommended new Board members are independent of the Company. More

Curricula Vitae of proposed new Board members of Atlantic Petroleum

Birgir Durhuus has been Head of Alternative Solutions & Risk Management at
Danske Capital since 2007. From 1999 to 2007 he held various positions
including head of sales & research at Nordea Markets in Copenhagen, where he
was responsible for international investors and Danish institutional investors.
During the period 1994 to 1999 he was Head of Research at Nykredit Bank in
Copenhagen. Mr. Durhuus holds a Master of Economics in Finance from CBS
(Copenhagen Business School). 

Jan Edin Evensen has been Chief Technical Officer & Chairman of the Board for
Rock Energy AS since December 2008. Since 1977, Mr. Evensen has had a long
international career in the oil and gas industry. During 2007 and 2008 he was
an independent energy consultant. Between 2004 and 2007 he had a position with
the Petroleum Institute of Thailand as Chairman of the E&P Standing Committee
and Appointed Director of the Council of Trustees. During the period 1993 to
2007, Mr. Evensen was with Amerada Hess International in a number of positions.
He was General Manager/Director for Hess (Thailand) Ltd in Bangkok from 2001 to
2007, General Manager/Director for Hess (Vietnam) Ltd in Hồ Chí Minh City
between 2001 and 2002, Executive Exploration Manager NW Europe for Amerada Hess
in London from 1997 to 2000 and Executive Exploration Manager in Oslo, Norway,
between 1993 and 1996. Mr. Evensen holds a Cand. Real (M.Sc.) in Geology from
the University of Oslo. Mr. Evensen currently holds the following Board
positions: MoVa AS, Kviknehytta AS (Chairman of the Board) and Rock Energy AS
(Chairman of the Board). 

Diana Leo has worked as Production Operations Manager of the Siri Area Asset in
Denmark with the E&P division of DONG Energy since December 2008. Most
recently, Mrs. Leo was promoted to a Senior Manager position and joined the
Leadership Forum of DONG Energy. During the period 2002 to 2008 she worked for
Shell E&P (Exploration & Production), initially as a Production Technologist
then as Offshore Installation Manager of the Nelson Platform in the UK and from
2007 to 2008 she worked for Shell E&P in Sarawak, Malaysia. From 1993-2002 Mrs.
Leo held other positions within Danish Oil and Natural Gas (now DONG Energy) in
the Drilling Operating Division, including a secondment to Amerada Hess
Copenhagen as a Petroleum Engineer as well as three years in the Gas
Transmission Division of Danish Oil and Natural Gas. Mrs. Leo graduated as a
Production Engineer (B.Sc.) from the Copenhagen Engineering School. In addition
she holds an MBA from the University of Salford, UK and a M.Eng. (Petroleum
Engineering) from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, UK.
