ILONA HALLA APPOINTED CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF RUUKKI GROUP PLC               

Ilona Halla (48), M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer  
of Ruukki Group Plc.                                                            

Halla has worked at Ruukki Group Plc since 2009 as Chief Audit Executive. Before
joining Ruukki Group Plc, Halla served most recently as Director, Internal Audit
Services at Ernst & Young Oy.                                                   

Appointment becomes effective immediately. Up and until 15 April 2010, Halla    
will be working together with Deputy CEO Jukka Havia.
