Outokumpu appoints Kari Parvento Executive Vice President - Group Sales and Marketing

Mr. Kari Parvento has been appointed Executive Vice President - Group
Sales and Marketing and member of Outokumpu Group's Executive
Committee as of May 1, 2010 at the latest. He will report to CEO Juha
Rantanen and will succeed Mr. Bo Annvik who has headed the Group's
Sales and Marketing function on a temporary basis since February 2009
in addition to his permanent duties as EVP - Specialty Stainless. Mr.
Parvento will be based initially in the Group head office in Finland
but will relocate to the Group Sales and Marketing head office in
Brussels during 2010.

Mr. Parvento is a Finnish citizen, born 1957 and holds a Master of
Science in Engineering (Mining Technology) from Helsinki University
of Technology.  He has started his professional career at Outokumpu
in the 1980s and is currently responsible for Sandvik Group's
Underground Hard Rock Mining and Underground Soft Rock Mining
businesses as well as holding the position of Managing Director for
Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy in Finland. During his career Mr.
Parvento has held a number of senior sales, marketing and management
positions at Tamrock, Kuusakoski and Sandvik in Finland, and also
internationally in Australia and Sweden.
