NORDIC ALUMINIUM PLC'S EMPLOYEE NEGOTIATIONS CONCLUDED  

Due to market uncertainty Nordic Aluminium Plc started employee negotiations in
compliance with the Act on Cooperation on January 9, 2009. These negotiations
have been concluded on January 22, 2009. The negotiations were held to adapt
the Company's operations to the current market situation and to the expected
operational and economical prospects. The negotiations concerned all personnel
groups. 

The conclusion of the negotiations is that there is a need for 25 per cent
temporary lay-off concerning the whole personnel, approximately 270 persons at
Kirkkonummi and Nivala factories. Temporary lay-offs will be carried out every
fourth week until further notice. Temporary lay-offs will start from the
beginning of February.
