No charges pressed in apartment sale of Finnair CEO


FINNAIR PLC   STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE   10 AUGUST 2012 AT 10:00 EET

Finnair announced on March 3, 2012 that the police had started preliminary
investigations on their own initiative on the matters related to the apartment
sale of Finnair's CEO Mika Vehviläinen. The matter was transferred to the
prosecutor for consideration of charges in June. 

Deputy Prosecutor General Jorma Kalske has completed the consideration of
charges and made the decision not to press any charges. The prosecutor's
decision was announced today. 

Finnair Board of Directors believes it is very good and important that the
matter has now been thoroughly reviewed and the prosecutor has seen that there
is no reason to press charges. It is good that the decision on the matter was
reached speedily. 

The Board hopes, and will do its utmost to ensure, that the company can now
focus on strengthening its financial position and building its future, so that
Finland also in the future has a good airline. It is of utmost importance that
the company, its management and personnel can focus on the company's
opportunities in the very demanding market conditions. 

The Finnair Board understands well the strong emotions regarding this matter
and the public debate around it. The Board takes responsibility for further
developing the ways of working and corporate governance at the company, and
ensuring that the company in all its operations follows high ethical standards.
