FINNAIR TO ACQUIRE THREE ADDITIONAL EMBRAER AIRCRAFT

Finnair has ordered three more Embraer 190 aircraft. The aircraft will be
delivered in 2010-2011. The Embraer 190 is a 100-seat jet aircraft, which
Finnair uses in its domestic and European traffic.
“Through the order we have ensured the availability of capacity under present
conditions. The airline manufacturers' order books are full for years ahead and
we forecast that our European traffic will grow in the wake of Asian traffic,”
says SVP, Finnair Scheduled Passenger Traffic Henrik Arle.

Finnair already has six Embraer 190s and a seventh aircraft is being delivered
to Finnair today. In addition to those it has now ordered, a further one
Embraer 190 will join Finnair's fleet this year, and two more in 2009. Finnair
also has ten of the 76-seat Embraer 170 aircraft.
“In addition to the larger Airbus A320 aircraft, we use the smaller Embraer
aircraft on routes and flights where demand is lower. This gives us the
opportunity to offer more frequent flights profitably to more destinations,
which is important in terms of feeder traffic for our Asian flights. At the
same time, local traffic between Finland and Europe benefits from this
comprehensive service offering. Capacity scaled to match demand and the latest
technology also represent the best solution from an environmental perspective,”
explains Arle.
