MAJOR SHAREHOLDER ANNOUNCEMENT 21 March 2016 at 9.00 EET 

Stora Enso Oyj received on 18 March 2016 a notification under the Chapter 9,
Section 10 of the Securities Markets Act, according to which the indirect
holdings of BlackRock Inc. and its funds in Stora Enso’s shares have increased
over the threshold of 5% on 17 March 2016.
