OKMETIC STRIVES FOR GROWTH AND INVESTS ON CRYSTAL GROWING CAPACITY

Okmetic uses its call option to purchase the ten crystal growing furnaces owned
by the Norwegian company NorSun, and located in the Vantaa production plant. The
furnaces originate from an arrangement made in 2006, in which NorSun placed the
furnaces in the extension of Vantaa production plant. Okmetic has used the
furnaces for the contract manufacturing of solar crystals.

As a result of the investment, Okmetic's own crystal growing capacity increases
significantly. The acquired furnaces are meant to be used for the production of
solar crystals, and in the future for the crystal growing required for the own
production and contract manufacturing of silicon wafers. Okmetic thus secures
sufficient production capacity for the needs of coming years. Crystal growing is
one of the company's core competencies.

The total amount of the investment is 3.3 million euro. The transaction will
have no impact on employment, because the furnaces have already been operated by
Okmetic up to this date.
