Rautaruukki to enlarge its Corporate Executive Board

Ruukki is to enlarge its Corporate Executive Board to speed up and improve the
effectiveness of management decision-making and the implementation of decisions
to strengthen its market position. The business environment is changing
increasingly faster and it is important to improve the company's capability to
react by effectively combining experience and expertise in different parts of
the business.

The present members of the Corporate Executive Board - Sakari Tamminen,
President & CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board; Markku Honkasalo, CFO;
Olavi Huhtala, EVP, Ruukki Metals; Tommi Matomäki, EVP, Ruukki Construction and
Marko Somerma, EVP, Ruukki Engineering - will remain on the Board after 1
October 2011. Effective from 1 October 2011, Somerma will also assume
responsibility for corporate strategic planning.

Mikko Hietanen, EVP, Business Development, will assume responsibility for risk
management and for business development projects as of 1 October 2011 and report
to President & CEO Sakari Tamminen.

The Corporate Executive Board will be enlarged with four new members:

Eija Hakakari MSc (Educ), 50, serves as SVP, Human Resources. She joined Ruukki
in 2008 and has a strong track record in organisational development, HR
development and HR management in an international business environment.

Toni Hemminki MSc (Tech), 36, is SVP, Technology, Energy and Environment at
Ruukki and joined the company in 2001. A distinguished international expert in
his field, his ability has been widely used also outside Ruukki.

Taina Kyllönen MSc (Econ), 44, is SVP, Marketing and Communications as of 1
October 2011. She has in-depth expertise in international marketing, brand-
building, communications and investor relations. Kyllönen joined Ruukki as VP,
Corporate Communications in 2004 and has served as SVP, Marketing at Ruukki
since 2007.

Ismo Platan BSc (IT), 57, is SVP, Supply Chain Management, IT and Operational
Excellence (OPEX). He joined Ruukki in 2003 and is a long-line expert in IT and
international operational process development.

The Corporate Executive Board consists of the following members as of 1 October
2011:
Sakari Tamminen, President & CEO and Chairman of the Corporate Executive Board
Markku Honkasalo, CFO
Tommi Matomäki, EVP, Ruukki Construction
Marko Somerma, EVP, Ruukki Engineering and CSO
Olavi Huhtala, EVP, Ruukki Metals
Eija Hakakari, SVP, Human Resources
Toni Hemminki, SVP, Technology, Energy and Environment
Taina Kyllönen, SVP, Marketing and Communications
Ismo Platan, SVP, Supply Chain Management, IT and OPEX

Olli Huuskonen LLM, 50, SVP, General Counsel, acts as secretary to the Corporate
Executive Board and, effective from 1 November 2011, as secretary to the Board
of Directors.

The new Corporate Executive Board replaces the existing Corporate Executive
Board and Extended Executive Board.
