Outokumpu Oyj - Company Announcement

Outokumpu Oyj - the fine related to copper sanitary tube cartel remains unchanged

STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE
May 19, 2010 12.10 pm EET

In the autumn 2004, the European Commission imposed a fine of EUR 36 million for
Outokumpu for the participation in copper sanitary tube cartel. Outokumpu
appealed to the General Court (previously known as the Court of First Instance
for Europe) regarding the level of the fine. According to the Court decision on
May 19, 2010 the fine remains unchanged.

Outokumpu paid the fines in 2009 which means that the decision will have no
impact on the Group's profit or cash flow.

Outokumpu has exited from the copper fabrication business by divesting the major
part of the business in 2005 and the remaining in 2008.
