Tornio Works production ramped back up after strike ends

Stock Exchange Release
October 29, 2007 at 3.45 p.m.

Among some other Finnish companies, Outokumpu's Tornio Works was
affected last week by the Salaried Employees Union strike. The strike
started on October 22 and ended on October 26. During the strike most
of the stainless steel production operations in Tornio were
suspended. Deliveries, however, continued from existing stock.
Production was ramped back up during the weekend, and the mill is now
capable to meet all orders. Due to the short duration of the strike,
direct effects to the Group's results were marginal.
