TietoEnator appoints Hannu Syrjälä as President and CEO

TietoEnator's Board of Directors has appointed Hannu Syrjälä as the
Group's new President and CEO. Mr Syrjälä will start in his new
position by 15 February 2008 and his office will be located in
Finland. Åke Plyhm, who has worked as interim CEO since 16 October,
will resume his previous position as the Deputy CEO.

Hannu Syrjälä (41 years old) was born in Kangasniemi, Finland, and
holds an M. Sc. degree in Economics. He will join TietoEnator from
General Electric Company in the USA where he has held the position of
Vice President and General Manager, GE Healthcare Life Support
Solutions since 2003.

In the past ten years, Mr. Syrjälä has held different senior
executive positions in Instrumentarium and General Electric Company.
During his career in these companies, he has worked in treasury and
investor relations positions as well as in global sales and marketing
management. Mr. Syrjälä also has profound experience of mergers and
acquisitions and a sound track record in managing turnarounds and
