Talvivaara Mining Company Plc (“the Company”), was notified on 13 October 2008
that, on 13 October 2008, Mr Edward Haslam, Chairman, bought 60,000 ordinary
shares at an average price of 196.7p each. 

Following these transactions, Edward Haslam holds a total beneficial interest
in the Company of 301,086 shares, representing 0.13 % of the voting rights
attached to the issued ordinary share capital of the Company.
