ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT     

Ruukki Group Plc has received an announcement pursuant to Securities Market Act 
chapter 2, section 9 regarding a change in shareholding.                        

Atkey Limited (register number 1456426, British Virgin Islands) announces that, 
based on the decision made by Ruukki Group Plc's Board to cancel altogether     
13,052,022 treasury shares held by Ruukki Group Plc and published on 19 January 
2010, its ownership will exceed 20% of the registered share capital and voting  
rights of Ruukki Group Plc after the cancellation has been registered at the    
Trade Register.                                                                 

Atkey Limited holds altogether 50,281,401 Ruukki Group Plc shares which         
correspond to 20.28% of the registered share capital and voting rights of Ruukki
Group Plc after the treasury shares are cancelled. 

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 261,034,022 and share capital 
is EUR 23,642,049.60. The number of treasury shares held by Ruukki Group Plc is 
currently 21,787,917 shares. Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares will
be 247,982,000 after the cancellation of the treasury shares and the number of  
held treasury shares 8,735,895.
