Ahlstrom Corporation STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 13.8.2008

The Board of Directors of Ahlstrom Corporation has appointed M.Sc.
(Econ.) Jan Lång President & CEO of the company. He will take over
the responsibility as from January 1, 2009.

Mr. Lång (born 1957) joins Ahlstrom from the position of President
and CEO of Uponor Corporation. He has been working for Uponor since
2003. Prior to that he was working at Huhtamaki Corporation in
various senior executive positions.

experience and excellent leadership capabilities in global

Mr. Risto Anttonen continues as CEO until December 31, 2008. After
that he will assume the role of Deputy CEO and will continue as a
member of the Corporate Executive Team until he retires in 2010, at
the latest."During the past months, Risto Anttonen has skillfully led the
company towards performance improvement in a challenging business
environment, and kept the momentum in the implementation of
Ahlstrom's growth strategy", Peter Seligson says.
