Vaisala seeks growth from service and solutions business

Vaisala responds to the growing demand for services and solutions by
streamlining its operations and simplifying its organization. All
current service operations will be centralized under a new Vaisala
Services division. Vaisala Solutions division will focus more clearly
on comprehensive solutions. Vaisala assembly, production, procurement
and deliveries will be centralized under a new Operations unit
."Vaisala has been the product champion in selected fields of
environmental measurement for a long time. Now we want to shift our
focus more towards service and solutions business. Our customer
contacts show that the demand for this is clearly growing", says CEO
Kjell Forsén.

New Vaisala Services division

The development of new innovative services is an important growth
area for Vaisala. By concentrating all current services in one
division, the company is able to offer better and more comprehensive
services to its customers. The new Vaisala Services division starts
operations on 1.1.2008. The division is led by Scott Sternberg, who
was appointed Director of Services in April this year.

Vaisala Solutions division focuses on customer-specific comprehensive
solutions

To accommodate the growing needs of the market, the Vaisala Solutions
division will focus more clearly on offering comprehensive
meteorological solutions. Single products and systems will be moved
from the Vaisala Solutions division to the Vaisala Measurement
Systems division, to complement its offering of meteorological
products.

Antti Ritvos (53), M.Sc. B.Sc., has been appointed as Director,
Vaisala Solutions. Antti Ritvos is currently working as a management
consultant and Vice President of Mercuri Urval Finland. Mr. Ritvos
has a 20-year experience from leading international technology
companies, such as General Electric and Instrumentarium. Antti Ritvos
will start in his new position on 15.11.2007. He will be a member of
the Vaisala Management Group and report to CEO Kjell Forsén.

Vaisala Solutions division's current Director Hannu Tuominen will
move to support CEO Kjell Forsén in the tasks relating to change
management.

Shared Operations unit for the Vaisala Group

Vaisala's assembly, production, procurement and delivery functions
will be centralized under a new Operations unit. The consolidation
will bring scale and synergy advantages and thus increase efficiency.

Reporting based on the new segments will become effective on
1.1.2008.
