SECURITIES MARKETS ACT, CHAPTER 2, PARAGRAPH 10                                 

Pursuant to the Securities Markets Act, Chapter 2, Paragraph 10, Marimekko      
Corporation (Business Identity Code 0111316-2) announces that it has been       
informed today that Barclays Capital Securities Limited´s share of Marimekko    
Corporation´s share capital and voting rights has exceeded 1/20, i.e. increased 
to 6.09% as a result of transaction concluded on 8 April 2009.                  

According to the disclosure, Barclays Capital Securities Limited´s share of     
Marimekko Corporation´s share capital and voting rights after the transaction is
