Teo Group has sold a complex of buildings in the Old Town of Kaunas

The buildings in the Old Town of Kaunas owned by Teo Group and in which the
Communications History Museum is situated have been sold to UAB Reksus, a
company specializing in real estate rentals in Kaunas. 

Teo has been considering the intentions to sell the buildings at Rotušės sq.
17, 18, 19 and 20, Kaunas for several years already. The Board of Teo had also
approved the negotiations for the sale of the premises owned by Teo Group. 

"By focusing on the development of our next-generation telecommunications
business, we are purifying our activities and giving up of unrelated projects
for real estate management and development of the Museum", – Kęstutis Šliužas,
CEO of Teo, said. 

UAB Reksus, the company that has purchased the complex of the buildings having
the status of the State-protected objects, will carry out their major
renovation and maintain the architectural integrity of the buildings. 

"This is a long-term real estate investment, whereby we aim to offer businesses
the rent of exclusive premises in the Old Town of Kaunas", – Gediminas Vilimas,
CEO of UAB Reksus, said. 

The Communications History Museum will continue its activities for the next
three months. The aim is that the collected exhibits continue to be available
to the public; therefore, their transfer is being discussed with other museums
and institutions. The Museum’s collection includes postal, radio, telegraph,
telephone and computer science exhibits, sets of postage stamps, electronic
computing machines. 

The buildings constructed in the Town Hall Square of Kaunas at the turn of the
16th and 17th centuries were primarily used by merchants settling near the
centre of the town. The buildings were used as warehouses for storing the grain
intended for exports. From the 3rd decade of the 19th century, a horse post
station was set up there. In the end of the 19th century, the Kaunas City
Museum was situated and operating there. Since 1994, the complex of buildings
has been housing the Communications History Museum.
