Transaction of M-real's New Thames paper mill came into effect

M-real Corporation Stock Exchange Release 29.2.2008

The transaction announced on 1 February 2008 by which M-real sells
its New Thames paper mill in the UK to DS Smith Plc was closed and
came into effect on February 29, 2008.

The agreement concerning the uncovered pension liabilities of
M-real's UK operations is aimed to be finalised during the current
quarter of this year.
