Scott Sternberg appointed as Director of Vaisala service business

M.Sc.(Physics) Scott Sternberg (43) has been appointed as Director of
the Vaisala service business starting June 1st, 2007. His role is to
integrate current Vaisala services and to identify new opportunities.
Development of innovative services is a growing part of Vaisala's
business.

Scott Sternberg joined Vaisala in 2004 as Business Unit Manager of
Vaisala's Thunderstorm Data business. Before joining Vaisala, he
worked for 12 years in a number of capacities for Roper
Industries-Photometrics. Photometrics designs and manufactures a
variety of digital imaging devices for analytical instrumentation
markets.

Scott Sternberg is a US citizen, and currently works in the Vaisala
Tucson office in Arizona. Due to his new role, Mr. Sternberg will
relocate to Vaisala headquarters in Finland.

Scott Sternberg will be a member of the Vaisala Management Group
starting June 1st, 2007, and report to CEO Kjell Forsén.
