Pekka Laaksonen is resigning from Stora Enso to become CEO of Valio

Pekka Laaksonen, Senior Executive Vice President, Fine Paper and
member of the Executive Management Group (EMG), has accepted the
position of CEO with Valio Ltd. Valio is the largest dairy company in
Finland. Pekka Laaksonen will relinquish his current duties with
Stora Enso by 15 August 2007.

His successor will be announced in due course.
