Ruukki Group Oyj - Major shareholder announcements

ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Release, 5 June 2008 at 4:05 pm.               

Ruukki Group Plc has today received an announcement pursuant to Securities      
Market Act regarding a change in shareholding:                                  

According to the announcement of Oy Herttakakkonen Ab (business ID 0761602-7)   
its ownership has fallen below one tenth (1/10) to 7.48 % of the share capital  
and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc based on transactions carried out on 5    
June 2008 and to 9.07 % when taking into account the personal ownership of Kai  
Mäkelä and the ownership of Oy Herttaässä Ab.                                   

Oy Herttakakkonen Ab has the following ownership:

The forward contracts will expire on 19 June 2008.                              

In addition, Oy Herttakakkonen Ab announces that it has continued the one-sided 
commitment to sell, by 31 August 2008, 20,000,000 Ruukki Group Plc shares or    
forward contracts that it owns to RCS Trading Corp Ltd or to a party appointed  
by RCS.                                                                        
In addition, Kai Mäkelä owns personally 20 and Oy Herttaässä Ab 4,635,410 Ruukki
Group Plc shares.                                                               

Ruukki Group Plc's registered number of shares is 290,034,022 and share capital 
is EUR 23,642,049.60.
