Marel hf. - Total number of voting rights and capital

Increase in share capital of Marel hf.

In accordance with Article 84 of the Act on Securities Transactions No
108/2007, Marel hf. announces that the Company increased its share capital by
ISK 3.154.750 in November 2010. Shares in Marel hf. are now 730,291,247 of
nominal value. Each share carries one vote and votes in the Company are
therefore 730,291,247. Marel hf. thinks it is prudent to mention that the
Company owns an insubstantial amount of the Company's shares (30,000) that do
not carry voting rights, which increases the volume of active votes slightly.
