CHANGES IN RUUKKI GROUP'S MANAGEMENT

Ruukki Group Plc, Stock Exchange Release, 7 August 2009 at 2:00 p.m.

CHANGES IN RUUKKI GROUP'S MANAGEMENT

Ruukki Group Plc published on 7 May 2009 that it has started processes in order
to demerge its Minerals and Wood Processing businesses during 2010. As part of
this process, the Board of Ruukki Group Plc has today appointed a new CEO and an
operative management team to Ruukki Yhtiöt Oy, the subsidiary which will become
the parent company for all the Wood Processing assets of the Group.

“The demerger resolution made by the Board of Ruukki Group Plc requires special
expertise in business, finance and investor relations. We have decided to elect
Thomas Hoyer to this position, which aims at developing the Group's Wood
Processing business into a growing business with high level of further
processing with a foothold in both Finland and the neighbouring areas.” says
Alwyn Smit, Chief Executive Officer of Ruukki Group Plc.

Thomas Hoyer, M.Sc. (Finance), will take the position of CEO in Ruukki Yhtiöt Oy
on 1 October 2009. He has previously been partner at Helsinki Capital Partners
Oy, and CFO of Aldata Solution Oyj, a Nasdaq OMX listed software company. He has
since October 2008 been member of the Board of Ruukki Group Plc. The other
members of the new Wood Processing management team are Alexandre Baranetskij
(international operations), Esa Hukkanen (business development) and Kalle
Lehtonen (finance and administration).

Ruukki Group Plc's Deputy CEO Antti Kivimaa resigns from the company by the end
of third quarter 2009 and will move on to new responsibilities outside the
company. Mr. Kivimaa has agreed to remain of assistance to the company during a
hand-over period.

”Antti Kivimaa has played a key role when Ruukki Group has changed into a large
international industrial company. He has strongly contributed to maintaining the
relative profitability of our wood products business in comparison to overall
industry performance.”, says Smit.
