Expansion eased by an order from local insurance sector. IT service company Affecto has established a subsidiary in Poland with a target to serve initially the insurance and utilities sectors. In the first phase, the company aims to grow the Polish subsidiary to about 15-20 local employees. Investments in Poland were eased by new sizable order received in Warsaw. Affecto has signed an agreement with Polish insurance company "Commercial Union Polska", which belongs to UK-based insurance companies group "Commercial Union Group". According to the agreement, Affecto will implement five modules of a Danish insurance ERP system "The Insurance Application" (TIA) as well as the add-ons developed by Affecto itself. Implementation project should be over and the system should be ready for deployment already in late 2007. The work with the project has already started, and about 20 consultants from Lithuania and Latvia are currently working in the project and constantly staying in Warsaw. "Our offering in Poland will include operational IT solutions as well as Business Intelligence solutions for insurance and utilities sectors in the beginning. Later in 2008 we will offer a wider range of IT services in Polish market", says Kestutis Uzpalis, Affecto's director of Baltic operations.
