MECKLENBURG MINE PRODUCTION TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO LOCAL UNREST

Afarak Group Plc ("Afarak" or the "Company") (LSE: AFRK, OMX: AFAGR) announces
that the Company's Mecklenburg mine located on the Eastern Limb of the Bushveld
Complex in South Africa has suspended production due to the unrest in the local
community.

Afarak's top priority is the safety of its employees and contractors in the
area. Afarak is committed to resume production at the Mecklenburg mine when it
is deemed safe for all concerned. Shareholders will be updated in due course.
