Jouko Pölönen Appointed New President of Pohjola Insurance

Jouko Pölönen, CFO of Pohjola Group, has been appointed a new President of
Pohjola Insurance Ltd, a Pohjola Bank plc subsidiary. He will succeed Tomi
Yli-Kyyny who announced on 8 September 2010 that he would leave the company.

Jouko Pölönen (40), M.Sc. (Econ. & Bus. Adm.) and eMBA, has acted as CFO since
the beginning of 2009 and before that he acted as the CRO of Pohjola and its
predecessor OKO Bank between 2001 and 2008 and has been member of Pohjola
Group's Executive Committee since 2008. He will take up his new duties on 1
January 2011. Until then Tomi Yli-Kyyny will act as President.
