- Helgi Már Björgvinsson becomes SVP Marketing and Sales of Icelandair

Helgi Már Björgvinsson, currently General Manager UK & Ireland, will be Senior
Vice President of Marketing & Sales for Icelandair.  Helgi joined Icelandair in
1999 as Manager Icelandair Holidays USA, later to become Sales Manager Western
Region. In 2002 he moved to London to become Sales and Marketing Manager UK &
Ireland and in 2004 to Paris to assume the position of General Manager Southern
Europe.  Helgi has been General Manager of UK & Ireland since May 2007.  He
graduated from the University of South Carolina, Columbia in 1994 with BS
degree in Marketing and Management and is finishing his MBA at ESCP-EAP
European School of Management in Paris.  Helgi is 37 year's of age and married
to Marta Jónsdóttir, Program Specialist at UNESCO in Paris.
