NOTIFICATION OF A CHANGE IN OWNERSHIP INTEREST UNDER CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10
OF THE FINNISH SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Based on an announcement received by Stockmann Plc ("Stockmann"), the
holdings of HTT Holding Oy Ab ("HTT Holding"), a company controlled by
Hartwall Capital Oy ("Hartwall Capital"), have exceeded the flagging
threshold of 1/10 (10%).

B.   Full name of person subject to the notification obligation:
HTT Holding Oy Ab, corporate ID 2279939-4
Hartwall Capital Oy, corporate ID 0711984-8

C.   Date of the transaction and date on which the threshold is exceeded:
24 August 2009

D.   Threshold that is exceeded:
HTT Holding has acquired Series B shares so that its holdings exceed 1/10
(10%) of the shares. If the undertaking of HTT described under section F
is realised, the share of 1/10 (10%) of votes will also be exceeded.

Hartwall Capital does not own any shares in Stockmann.

The current share capital of Stockman comprises a total of 67,352,166
shares (29,015,586 Series A shares and 38,336,580 Series B shares).

F.   Additional information
In addition, HTT Holding has undertaken to subscribe for any offer shares
that remain unsubscribed for in the rights offering announced on 14 August
2009, excluding such shares in respect of which certain shareholders of
Stockmann have provided a commitment to subscribe for their pro rata share
of the rights offering. If the offering and HTT Holding's commitment is
exercised in full, HTT Holding's holdings in Stockmann would increase to
13.04 per cent of the shares and to 11.02 per cent of the votes after the
registration of the shares to be issued in the rights offering in the
Trade Register, i.e., on or about 28 September 2009.

HTT Holding's undertakings are based on an agreement signed on 14 August
2009 with Stockmann relating to the directed issue completed on 14 August
2009 and to the rights offering announced at that date.
