LABOUR DISPUTES IMPACT FINNAIR'S TRAFFIC FIGURES IN NOVEMBER

FINNAIR OYJ STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE DECEMBER 8, 2009 AT 09:00

Finnair's November traffic figures were affected by the two-day long strike by
pilots on 16-17 November. Due to the pilots' strike, Finnair had to cancel more
than 400 flights. The cancelled flights disrupted the travel plans of more than
40,000 passengers, which affected Finnair's passenger number in November. Ground
handling staff, moreover, began an illegal walk-out on 30 November.

In November, Finnair's scheduled passenger traffic declined by 20 per cent,
measured in passenger kilometres from the previous year. Capacity was cut by
more than 18 per cent compared with November the previous year. The passenger
load factor fell accordingly by one and a half percentage points to 70 per cent.

Asian traffic declined by 19 per cent and capacity was more than 16 per cent
lower than the previous year, resulting in a decline in the load factor by
nearly three percentage points to 77 per cent.
European and domestic traffic both declined by more than 20 per cent, with
capacity falling by similar levels in both areas. The passenger load factors
rose slightly, to 60 per cent in Europe and to 57 per cent domestically.
In North American traffic, capacity was cut compared with last year by nearly
eight per cent. Traffic fell by nearly 23 per cent, so the passenger load factor
declined by more than 14 percentage points to under 74 per cent.
Leisure traffic declined by 23 per cent. Capacity was cut by 25 per cent and the
load factor rose by two percentage points to 85 per cent.
Of Finnair's flights, nearly 80 per cent arrived on schedule in November, which
represents an improvement of more than two percentage points from last year. The
scheduled traffic punctuality rose by the same amount and was slightly less than
82 per cent.
