PÖYRY AWARDED EUR 5.2 MILLION CONTRACT FOR METRO MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM
IN VENEZUELA

Pöyry has been awarded an extension to their existing consultancy
engineering contract with Metro de Maracaibo C.A. in connection with
the Libertador - Padilla extension of Line 1 of the light rail mass
transport system in Maracaibo, Venezuela. The total value of the
contract awarded amounts to EUR 5.2 million.

The 7.7 km long Libertador - Padilla extension includes the
construction of seven new stations and a double-track railway.
Pöyry's scope of work includes project review, site supervision,
interface management, and quality management services. The services
are to be carried out between June 2009 and June 2011.

Pöyry has been the client's consultant for the transportation system
since 2002. The contracts awarded to date, in connection with the
system, amount to a total of EUR 36 million.
