ADVANCE INFORMATION ON OPERATING PROFIT OF THIRD QUARTER

ADVANCE INFORMATION ON OPERATING PROFIT OF THIRD QUARTER

Based on preliminary data, the operating profit (EBIT) of Stonesoft
Corporation was clearly positive during the third quarter, or
approximately EUR 0.5 (-0.5) million.

According to the preliminary data also the net sales of the company
increased slightly compared to the corresponding period in the
previous year. This development of the net sales was roughly in
accordance with the expectations of the company, and the improvement
of the operating profit, which was better than expected, was to a
large extent due to gross margin on sales which was better than
expected as well as costs that were lower than expected.

In its interim report published on August 14, 2009, Stonesoft has
stated that, on the grounds given in the report, it does not regard
it justified to give any estimate on the future development of the
result in 2009, although it strives for an improved operating result
(EBIT) compared to the previous year. In addition, the company has
stated that it expects the net sales for the full year to remain at
the previous year's level and to be EUR 24.3 million, +/- EUR 1.5
million.

The preliminary data now available does not change this previous
statement."We are very satisfied with the fact that the operating profit
improved by approximately EUR 1 million and we have managed to
increase our market share in this generally difficult market
situation", says Ilkka Hiidenheimo, CEO of Stonesoft.

The advance information is unaudited and it is not based on an
interim report approved by the Board of Directors.

The interim report of Stonesoft Corporation for the reporting period
January 1 - September 30, 2009 will be published on Friday, October
23, 2009, in accordance with the previous notification. A press
conference for media, analysts and investors will be held on October
23, 2009 at 10.30 am at the Stonesoft headquarters, street address
