Kesko's sales increased in September by 6.3 %

KESKO CORPORATION STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 14.10.2011 AT 09.00 1(2)

The Kesko Group's sales in September 2011, excluding VAT, totalled €809.7
million, showing an increase of 6.3%.

In Kesko's food trade, sales in September were €350.8 million, an increase of
7.6% compared to the previous year. Sales to the K-food store chains were up by
9.0%. The sales of Pirkka products to K-food stores increased by 27.5%.

In the home and speciality goods trade, sales in September were €132.8 million,
an increase of 1.8% compared to the previous year. The sales of K-citymarket's
home and speciality goods and the sales of furniture, sports goods and footwear
increased.

In the building and home improvement trade, sales in September were €252.0
million, an increase of 1.5%. Sales in Finland were down by 0.9%. Sales abroad
increased by 3.4% in terms of euros and by 11.9% in terms of local currencies.
In Russia, sales increased by 9.6% in terms of euros and by 15.3% in terms of
the local currency.

In the car and machinery trade, sales in September were €91.5 million, an
increase of 24.1%. VV-Auto's sales in September were €67.7 million, up 24.6%.
Konekesko's sales in September were €23.9 million, an increase of 22.3%.

Change, % indicates the change over the corresponding period of the previous
year.

The reporting of the sales and sales adjustments of the foreign operations of
the building and home improvement trade has been harmonised, and sales
performance has been calculated based on comparable sales figures.

In September 2011, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland
was 22, which was the same as in the previous year. The total number of selling
days in January-September was one more than in the previous year. The number of
retail selling days in September was 30, which was the same as in the previous
year. The total number of retail selling days in January-September was the same
as in the previous year.
