Regarding New Wording of Law on Electricity

The new wording of Law on Electricity of the Republic of Lithuania (the “Law”)
was published in the“Valstybės žinios” yesterday on 7 February 2012. 

 As stated in Article 68 of the Law, the National Control Commission for Prices
and Energy (the “Commission”) shall establish the obligation to provide the
services on cost based prices, taking reasonable return on investment into
account. The Law does no longer include the provisions regarding the normative
profit for electricity energy companies. The return on investment shall be
established by the Commission, following the criteria set by Law. 

The full text of new wording of the Law is available online at www.lrs.lt, the
official website of Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania (the Parliament of the
Republic of Lithuania). State institutions shall prepare and adopt secondary
legislation required for implementation of Law.
