FINNAIR TRAFFIC GREW 6.5 PER CENT

FINNAIR TRAFFIC GREW 6.5 PER CENT                                               

Finnair traffic, measured in passenger kilometers, increased by 6.5% in July,   
while the capacity was up by 4.8%, resulting in a passenger load factor of 81.0%
or 1.3 points higher than last year. Finnair transported altogether 715 711     
passengers, which is 1.2% more than a year ago.                                 

Finnair scheduled traffic increased by 6.2% compared to July last year. Number  
of passengers carried on scheduled flights was 590 228, which is at the same    
level as last year. Passenger load factor in scheduled passenger traffic was    
79.1%, same than last year.                                                     

Finnair's Asian traffic grew 12.0% compared to July of the previous year. Number
of passengers carried on Finnair's Asian flights in July was 125 666, which is  
12.5% more than a year ago. RPKs in European traffic decreased by 1.6% and      
passenger load factor decreased by 0.6 percentage points to 77.3%.              

Leisure flights' passenger load factor increased by 8.1 percentage points to    
90.7% compared to the previous year.                                            

Arrival punctuality of Finnair flights was 82.5%, which is 5.9 points higher    
than in July 2008. Arrival punctuality of scheduled flights went up 6.1 points  
compared to last year and was 84.5%.                                            

Scheduled traffic                                                               
In scheduled traffic (international + domestic) revenue passenger kilometres    
increased by 6.2%. The change in capacity was 6.2%. Passenger load factor was   
79.1%, same than last year.                                                     

In scheduled international traffic, total number of passengers was up by 2.0%.  
Capacity in ASKs was 6.3%, while RPKs increased by 6.6%.                        

In European scheduled traffic, ASKs decreased by 0.8%, and as RPKs decreased by 
1.6%, the passenger load factor was 77.3%, down 0.6 points from previous year.  

In North Atlantic scheduled traffic, capacity increased by 3.3%. Change in RPKs 
was 11.3%, and passenger load factor for July was 90.1%, 6.4 points higher than 
previous year.                                                                  

In Asian scheduled traffic, capacity increase was 11.9%. The passenger traffic  
was up by 12.0%. Passenger load factor was 79.9%, 0.1 percentage points up.     

Domestic scheduled traffic decreased by 9.9% on a capacity increase of 2.0%.    
Passenger load factor decreased by 8.4 percentage points to 63.9%.              

Leisure traffic                                                                 
ASKs for leisure traffic decreased in July by 1.6%, and RPKs increased by 8.0%, 
resulting in a passenger load factor of 90.7%, 8.1 points higher than last year.
Cargo                                                                           

Cargo traffic increased by 6.9% in terms of cargo tonnes carried. Growth in     
scheduled traffic was 9.5%. Increase in Asian traffic was 19.7%. Volume in      
European traffic decreased by 10.0%. In North-Atlantic traffic cargo volume     
decreased by 12.7%. Cargo traffic carried on chartered cargo flights decreased  
by 51.0%. The cargo load factor in the Far Eastern traffic was 68.1% and in the 
North Atlantic traffic 59.3%.

kilometres.                                                                     
Overall load factor: Share of revenue tonne kilometres of available tonne       
kilometres.
