Q1 2009 Business Results of Lietuvos Energija AB

Preliminary unaudited consolidated business results of Lietuvos Energija AB
group for Q1 2009: 
* income - LTL420.1 million (EUR121.7 million), Q1 2008 income - LTL359.0
million (EUR104.0 million); 
* net profit/loss -  LTL29.6 million (EUR8.6 million) loss, Q1 2008  - LTL48.9
million (EUR14.1 million) profit; 
* electricity transmission for domestic needs - 2.516 TWh, in Q1 2008  - 2.740
TWh; 
* electricity exports -  0.934 TWh, in Q1 2008 - 0.633 TWh.

The income growth in Q1 2009 resulted from the price growth of public service
obligations (PSO). This change had no impact on Lietuvos Energija profit
indicator. The profit drop resulted from the altered accounting principle of
PSO costs, which will reallocate costs differently within the year with regard
to their seasonality and will have no impact on final results of the year and a
significant change in electricity consumption in Q1 2009. 

The exports increased because given the reduction in domestic demand, the
electricity generation potential of Lithuania was used for export.
