NORDIC ALUMINIUM PLC'S FOURTH QUARTER UNPROFITABLE

NORDIC ALUMINIUM PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE Jan 26, 2009 2.25 p.m. 

NORDIC ALUMINIUM PLC'S FOURTH QUARTER UNPROFITABLE   

Due to rapid downturn in demand Nordic Aluminium's operating profit was weak
during the fourth quarter, approximately EUR 1.0 million. Consolidated net
sales during the last quarter were 25 per cent less than in the equivalent
period in 2007. 

Furthermore the Company will make a write off on aluminium inventories
approximately EUR 1.4 million based on the rapid and steep price erosion of the
aluminium world market price. The operating profit for the whole year 2008 is
approximately EUR 11 million (2007 EUR 15.1 million). 

The financial statements bulletin will be published on March 5, 2009.
