Merja Haverinen appointed the Kesko Group's Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications and Responsibility

Merja Haverinen, M.Soc.Sc., has been appointed Kesko Corporation's Senior Vice
President for Corporate Communications and Responsibility starting from 1 April
2011.

Merja Haverinen, 48, joined Kesko in 2008 as the District Director for the
Finnish Lakeland. She came from TeliaSonera, where she had served as Director
for E-Business and Customer Relationship Management in 1996-2007. Haverinen had
joined TeliaSonera after her service at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. In
1984-1995, Haverinen was employed by Helsinki Mediat.

In her position as the District Director for the Finnish Lakeland, Haverinen has
represented the Kesko Group, being responsible for regional communications and
stakeholder cooperation, and for the planning and promotion of regional store
site projects. In this position, Merja Haverinen has been elected for several
positions of trust, including Vice Chair of the Supervisory Board of Keski-
Suomen Osuuspankki, and Vice Chair of the Board of the University of Jyväskylä.
Haverinen is also a member of the Board of the Central Finland Chamber of
Commerce and the South Savo Chamber of Commerce.

Merja Haverinen's area of responsibilities will include the Kesko Group's
corporate communications, brand and corporate responsibility affairs.

Paavo Moilanen, the present Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications
and Responsibility, will retire on 1 April 2011, in accordance with his service
contract.
