HKScan Corporation STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 17 November 2011, at 00.30pm

HANNU KOTTONEN TO BE HKSCAN'S NEXT CEO

HKScan's Board of Directors has appointed Hannu Kottonen (54) as the company's
next CEO. Mr Kottonen is moving to HKScan from Metsä Tissue Corporation, whose
CEO he has been since 2006. Prior to this, he has served as the head of M-real
Corporation's Consumer Packaging business area between 2004 and 2006, and has
been employed by the Huhtamaki Group in various positions, including CFO and
president of the Fresh Food Packaging Division.

Mr Kottonen will take up his new position when HKScan's current CEO Matti
Perkonoja retires, as announced earlier, at the end of February 2012.

According to Juha Kylämäki, chairman of HKScan's Board of Directors, Mr
Kottonen has strong track record and experience in integrating the business
operations of international companies and in building uniform operating models.
This experience will be needed in further developing the structure of the
HKScan Group, which has rapidly expanded in recent years, and in integrating
the robust country units into a more efficient entity.

It is time at HKScan to take advantage of synergies to improve productivity and
cash flow. Well-known brands, the high quality of the products, a responsible
way of working and skilled employees create a good foundation for further
development of the company says Hannu Kottonen.

Further information about Hannu Kottonen is available on HKScan's website:
