Carina Geber-Teir Appointed OP-Pohjola Group's SVP, Corporate Communications    

Carina Geber-Teir (36), M.Soc.Sc., has been appointed deputy member of          
OP-Pohjola Group Central Cooperative's Executive Board and Senior Vice          
President, Corporate Communications. Taking up her duties on 1 April, she will  
be responsible for the external and internal communications of OP-Pohjola Group,
OP-Pohjola Group Central Cooperative Consolidated and Pohjola Group and will be 
reporting to Reijo Karhinen, OP-Pohjola Group's Executive Chairman.             

Carina Geber-Teir will join OP-Pohjola Group from Varma Mutual Pension Insurance
Company for which she has worked as Communications Director since 2002.         

Markku Koponen, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, was appointed  
deputy member of OP-Pohjola Group Central Cooperative's Executive Board as of 1 
January 2009, in charge of Legal Affairs and Supervision of Group Interests, and
will remain Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, until Geber-Teir   
takes up her duties.
