Ruukki Group Oyj - Major shareholder announcements

ANNOUNCEMENT PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 2, SECTION 10 OF THE SECURITIES MARKET ACT

Ruukki Group Plc has received announcement pursuant to the Securities Market Act
regarding a change in shareholding.                                             

JPMorgan Chase & Co. (English registration number 2711006) announces that its   
subsidiaries have purchased 12,666,818 shares of Ruukki Group Plc in the share  
issue which became effective on June 25, 2007. As a result of the purchases, the
holdings of JPMorgan Chase & Co. have exceeded one twentieth (1/20) of the share
capital and voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc. JPMorgan Chase & Co. now owns    
14,169,744 Ruukki Group shares, which represents 5.24 % of the share capital and
voting rights of Ruukki Group Plc.
