RAUTARUUKKI TO INVEST IN GROWING POLISH CONSTRUCTION MARKET

Rautaruukki Corporation is to expand and develop the manufacture of steel frame
structures and profiled products for commercial construction as well as the
company's service centre operations in Poland. The investments total around EUR
19 million and will add to Ruukki's capabilities to serve customers and to
deliver construction systems and metal products. The investments will be made
during 2007. 

The existing service centre in Zyrardów will be relocated to the panel and
steel structure plant in Oborniki, where the prefabrication capacity of the
service centre will be expanded and diversified. This will support Ruukki's
ability to supply special products. Work is under way to increase and modernise
steel frame production capacity at the Oborniki plant. At the Zyrardów plant,
the premises vacated by the service centre will be used to expand the
production of profiled products. 

Modernisation of steel structure production and greater profiling capacity will
considerably strengthen Ruukki's delivery and service capability in the growing
commercial construction market in Poland. Besides providing a high quality,
diversified deliveries to meet customer needs, the Oborniki service centre will
also support Ruukki's local steel structure production. 

Ruukki has a total of 1,160 employees at nine locations in Poland i.e.
Oborniki, Zyrardów and Wroclav. The investments will result in the addition of
around a hundred jobs at Oborniki, whilst the number of jobs at Zyrardów will
remain essentially unchanged.
