CHANGES IN MARIMEKKO'S GROUP COMMUNICATIONS

CHANGES IN MARIMEKKO'S GROUP COMMUNICATIONS                                     

Marja Korkeela, Head of Group Communications and Investor Relations and member  
of the Management Group, has informed the company that she will leave Marimekko 
on 31 August 2009. Ms Piia Pakarinen, 33, BScBA, has been appointed as the      
company's Communications Manager as of 1 September 2009. She will be responsible
for corporate and investor communications, as well as the company's social      
responsibility reporting and trademark issues. Mr Thomas Ekström, CFO, is in    
charge of the Group's investor relations.                                       

Piia Pakarinen has worked at Marimekko since 1 August 2007 as Communications    
Coordinator for Group Communications. In addition to various duties related to  
communications, she has been in charge of the company's social responsibility   
reporting and trademark issues. Before joining Marimekko, Pakarinen served for  
several years in different positions at Hannes Snellman Attorneys at Law, last  
as Client Relations Coordinator responsible for duties associated with client   
relations management, marketing and communications.
